The Traveling Exhibitions Roundtable @ AAM 2008

When: 7:30 AM, Tuesday April 29th
Where: Capitol Rooms 2 and 3, Fourth floor, Hyatt Regency Denver
(AAM's Headquarters Hotel, across the street from the Colorado Convention Center)

Coffee and refreshments to be generously provided by the Cincinnati Museum Center and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service,
collaborating to produce Freedom's Sisters, sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund.

This year, the Roundtable, which many of you know and love, will be changing slightly. In an effort to address attendee concerns about the structure and use of our time, we will divide the session into separate segments for both Venues (to talk about what kinds of exhibits they're looking for) and Providers (to talk about what kind of exhibits they have currently available).

We will also ask speakers to sign-up (which is free) with us beforehand so we can distribute a Speaker's List with contact information at the session. Judging from attendance at the last several sessions of the roundtable, we expect a large number of speakers, so the rules for the sign-up will be as follows:

  • First come, first served.
  • Please keep you comments succinct and brief. We will have a large number of speakers to accomodate
  • One speaker per organization
    • unless you are speaking as both a venue and a provider, in which case it will be one speaker per segment.
  • Only registered attendees of the larger AAM conference need apply.

To sign up for the Roundtable's speakers list, send us an email. Be sure to tell us if you are interested in speaking as a provider of exhibits or a venue or both!

Material distribution tables will again be available. If you cannot attend the AAM conference, feel free to send your materials to either Scott Heath or Mac West, care of the the Hotel Monaco Denver, 1717 Champa Street at 17th, Denver, CO 80202. Be sure to mark your materials with one or both of our names and "HOLD FOR AAM CONFERENCE" and that they arrive no later than Saturday April 26th. We will see to it that they get put on the distribution tables before the start of the Roundtable.

Also, if you're a lister in our Traveling Exhibitions Database, be sure and check the "freshness" of your entries.
