Informal
Learning Experiences, Inc. provides a wide range of services to organizations
and government agencies involved in informal (out-of-school) and recreational
learning in both nonprofit and for-profit venues.
- We develop resources for
the field of informal learning.
- We encourage communication
and collaboration among organizations.
- We assist with management
issues and program development and evaluation.
Our specific services include:
- Working with individual
clients on institutional and project feasibility and planning studies,
development of exhibits and educational programs, identifying funding
sources, assisting with the preparation of funding proposals, and project
evaluation.
- Providing specific topical
and educational content for exhibits and programs.
- Working with individual
clients on strategic planning, organizational development, and other
management issues.
- Publication of a bi-monthly
newsletter, The
Informal Learning Review, which informs the field on current trends
and issues; program development, funding and evaluation resources; new
products; and other matters of interest to informal learning.
- Development and maintenance
of an online, searchable Traveling
Exhibitions Database, containing complete information on almost
600 traveling exhibitions currently available or in preparation.
The firm's principal, Dr. Robert
"Mac" West, is a former museum director with more than twenty-five
years' experience in informal learning and education. ILE is based in
Washington, DC, enabling us to work directly with federal agencies, professional
societies and educational organizations.
