Description:

“Step Right Up, step right up...experience the strange, the unexplainable, the UNSPEAKABLE underworld of our bizarre beasts. All alive, all on stage! ENTER IF YOU DARE!” —so says Dr. Entomo, the part-man, part-bug host ready to take you on a journey of discovery.

Is it true? Are they real?! Let Dr. Entomo be your guide as you explore the wonderful world of bugs in all their strange splendor. Creatures that Glow-In-The-Dark, Two-Headed Devils and Sumo-Wrestling Beetles challenge your sensibilities and will fascinate visitors of all ages!

Displayed as a Circus Sideshow, this exhibit features tarantulas, scorpions, centipedes and other "bugs" as a living collection that acts as a vehicle for discussing their various life habits and means of survival. Alter egos, masters of disguise, chemical warfare and outright bluffing are a sampling of the many ways in which bugs survive and are discussed throughout the show.

With a focus on education and building an appreciation for the complex lives these bugs lead, several interactive experiences are presented to highlight some of the more unusual. For instance, did you know that the Giant Vinegaroon got its name from the fact that, when stressed, they emit a spray of acetic acid, also known as vinegar? Pump the "Vinegar Extractor" and smell what we're talking about. And what about those big, shiny black scorpions? Activate the black light and watch them glow an eerie green.

Suitable for Natural History Museums, Children's Museums, Public Museums, Science Centers, and any institution wanting to capture the family audience, this exhibit is family-friendly in its design and content and resonates well with kids of all ages.
