Since 1881, people have turned to the American Red Cross for help in times
of crisis and for guidance in preventing, preparing for and responding to emergencies.
The early pioneers of the Red Cross movement paved the way for innovations in
disaster relief, nursing, first aid and safety, and blood donation and distribution.
With over 125 years of reaching out to the help others in need, the American
Red Cross now looks to reach out to a new generation of potential volunteers
and donors with a traveling exhibit entitled Your American Red Cross: the
Changing Face of Help.
The visitor experience will promote a better understanding of the structure
and services provided by the American Red Cross, an appreciation for the rich
history of compassion and pioneering spirit of Red Cross volunteers and employees,
and the relationship between the American Red Cross, the U.S. government, and
the international Red Cross movement.
The 3,000 sq. ft. modular museum exhibit design allows for it to fit galleries
ranging from approximately 2600 to 3400 sq. ft. Each section of the exhibit
includes interactive stations, artifacts, and introduces the visitor to a Red
Cross "Pioneer." Utilizing an impressive array of artifacts, images, and personal
stories collected over the years, this exhibit will not only display the past
and present of this organization, but inspire visitors to become part of its
future.
